Levi Hawkins died this morning at 3:30 at his home on south Washington street from the infirmities of old age. The deceased was born in Tippecanoe county July 24, 1838, but has lived in this county for a number of years. His remains will be taken to Lafayette where all his relatives except his wife, Mariah Hawkins, reside. The burial will be at Springdale cemetery on Friday afternoon. The services will be in charge of Rev. E.D. Smith of Terre Haute, formerly pastor of the First M.E. church of this city.
